Jyu Oh Sei

350 years have passed since humans first settled the Balkan star system, located approximately 150 light years from Earth, where a number of planets have been "teraformed" to resemble Earth. Two 12-year-old young twins, Thor and Rai, live on the space colony Juno until they come home to find their parents have been murdered. Unknown assailants gas the children knocking them out. They awake to find themselves on Chimera, a secret planet used as a penal colony where day and night last 181 days each and the planet is marked by extreme weather patterns. The boys are not only attacked by the planet's carnivorous plants, but also by a group of humans whom they eventually learn are the "Wildlings". Lead by Zagi, the group contains mostly younger adults and kids who were abandoned one of the four groups of humans, called "Rings" on the planet. These Rings, the Ochre Ring, Sun Ring, Blanc Ring and Night Ring, are based on Skin Color.

The Wildlings beat Rai after he spills water, a precious commodity there. When Zagi warns Thor that Rai will hold him back and that the others will "cull" him during the next night phase, the boys leave. While trying to escape an attack from the Blanc Ring, Rai is killed by one of the plants. Thor is rescued by a woman named Tiz who, along with a man named Third, take him to the Ochre Ring. After treating his wounds, they explain the planet's politics to him. He learns that each ring is lead by three people: the Top, Second, and Third, with the Top being third. He also learns that due to woman making up only 20% of the population, they are considered extremely special, live apart from men, and are the ones who get to choose their husbands, a request a man is generally not allowed to refuse. Despite his refusal, Tiz choses Thor as her first husband.

Characters

Thor, the main character of Jyu Oh Sei, was abandoned together with his twin brother, Rai, at Chimera. He adapts quickly to Chimera’s environment and fights for his survival on the planet. After many near-death experiences, he learned more about Chimera and the myth of the Beast King. Thor becomes the top at the age of eleven and Tiz becomes his second while Third remains his third. He is known as the silver hawk for his silver hair but he hates the name. He even created an air conditioning system to make everyone's lives better. He is worshiped in his ring.

Upon meeting with Karim, he immediately falls in love with her and saves her life. But to his despair she dies and blames it on Zagi whom he thought had killed her. The two fight and Thor wins and Zagi tells him that he didn't kill Karim and that it was someone else. He also told Thor not to trust Third. He too, along with Third found out about the truth. Why his parents were killed. They were killed because they wanted Thor. They sent him to Chimera along with his brother just as they had planned. Thor was the first child to be born naturally. He has the DNA of all the previous Jyu Oh Sei's. Thor then destryos all of the previous Jyu Oh Sei's who were kept in capsules before they could awake just to kill him and a group of soldiers.

Rai is Thor’s twin brother and was abandoned together with Thor at Chimera. He is the weaker twin, and Thor must go to great lengths to protect him. He is slightly more chubby than Thor. Both Thor and Rai are noted for having blue-gray eyes and silver hair, Zagi finds this to be highly unusual, despite the colonies abilities of gene-manipulation. Rai dies a little further on after being killed by a plant.

Tiz was originally the Second of the Sun Ring’s female clan. Immediately after meeting Thor, she takes a liking to him and tries to make him her mate, much to Thor's dismay. Tiz even left the Sun Ring, after Thor fought with Chen and won, just to be with Thor. Tiz is usually seen throughout the episodes trying to persuade Thor to be her mate though he usually refuses. And she is heartbroken when Thor picks Karim over her. But when Karim dies, Thor tells Tiz that he will be the father of her child. But sadly, she died in attempt to save Zagi's life claiming that Zagi was Thor's friend. She died because of a bullet shot by a knight ring's survivor. Chen adopts a stray girl and Thor named her Tiz. But the girl is actually Tiz that is reborn.

He is known only as ‘Third’ as he is the third in command of Ochre Ring. It has been so long since he was called by his original name that he can no longer remember it. He acts as a supporter of Thor when he declares that he intends to become the Beast King. he says that he can't love Chen the way she wants because he is in love with another woman from earth. But it is not revealed who. But, in the last few episodes his true intentions surface. And all he was doing was using Thor to complete a mission given to him by his commander all so that he could go to Earth. But much to his dismay, on a mission to save Chimera, he found out that Earth had been destroyed many years ago. And he died soon after by shooting himself in the head so that Thor could escape from the facility.

Zagi is introduced early in the series as he saves Thor and Rai from a dangerous situation. He is very pragmatic and encourages Thor to abandon his brother rather than protect him due to his weakness. He also becomes the Top of his ring the same time Thor did. He actually had feelings for Karim but said nothing and only truly admitted it a day before she was killed.

Karim is a very beautiful woman, and acts as Blank Ring's second in command. She appears later in the series but plays an important role. At first she hated Thor for having all of Zagi's attention and even tried killing him at one point. But she quickly fell in love with him. She is in love with both Thor and Zagi and she even said that she wants to bear both of their children. But in the end before she could even do so, she was killed by Third. She had tried to run after Zagi when he left but in the end she mistook Third for Zagi, seeing him wearing the same cloak. She called out Zagi's name letting Thor hear her voice and that was when Third killed her. The killing was intentional.

Chen is the leader of Sun Ring's clan. She is constantly hounded by Ochre Ring's leader to become his wife. Despite this, she is very enthusiastic and vocal about her love for his third in command, Third, placing both of them in danger. But further in the future she gets into a fight to become top for the Sun Ring and wins. But due to serious injuries, she had to amputate her leg resulting in her losing her place as top. She did not want Third to see her in such a state so she tried to keep away from him when he, Thor and Tiz went to the Sun Ring.
